Officers found a juvenile teenager, who was about 16-years old, outside a residence with a non-life threatening gunshot wound, according to a Tallahassee Police Department watch commander. The teen gave “inconsistent” statements about the shooting, the watch commander said, and the investigation continues.

This marks the 18th serious shooting in the capital city and county this year. So far in 2026, six people have been killed and at least 14 people have been injured, according to a Tallahassee Democrat analysis of gun violence.

The case remains an open and active investigation, and detectives are asking anyone who may have information to call 850 891-4200. Anonymous calls can also be made to Crime Solvers at 850 574-TIPS (8477).
