Clothing is optional at nudist beaches and four of the top 10 beaches in the United States are located in Florida, according to a recent ranking.
California tied with Florida with another four beaches making the list compiled by VIP Grinders.

In July, VIP Grinders analyzed TripAdvisor reviews, average summer temperatures and rainfall, Instagram hashtags, and Google searches of the most well-known nude beaches to determine which ones are the most loved.
“Nude beach culture is thriving in the U.S. at the moment, where tourists and locals can step out of their comfort zones and feel free in a nonjudgmental space,” said Telma Casaca from VIP Grinders in a statement to USA TODAY.

Playalinda Beach at Canaveral National Seashore offers relaxed nude experience
As part of the Canaveral National Seashore, Playalinda Beach feels remote and undeveloped, with picturesque sand dunes and crashing waves. For decades, a specific section has been welcoming nudist beachgoers.
“Playalinda Beach is a gem for those seeking a relaxed, nude beach experience,” according to nudebeachmap.com.
“Come prepared with everything you need, as amenities are sparse. The nudist area, while not officially sanctioned, is generally tolerated, making it one of the best nude beaches in Florida. Just be mindful of the steep parking and entrance fees ($25 per car), and the occasional enforcement of local nudity laws.”
Blind Creek Beach in Fort Pierce, Florida, site of annual skinny dip
Blind Creek Beach is the only clothing-optional beach on Florida’s Treasure Coast and is also located within a 409-acre coastal preserve to lend visitors a serene atmosphere.
The beach offers “unspoiled charm and respectful atmosphere,” according to nudebeachmap.com.
The beach was designated official clothing-optional beach in 2020 by St. Lucie County commissioners and is the site of annual skinny dip
Apollo Beach in Volusia County, Florida, described as ‘delightful spot’
A wide, undeveloped stretch of sand, Apollo Beach sits at the southern tip of Volusia County on Florida’s east coast, and is one of two nudist beaches in the area, the other being Playalinda Beach.
“This delightful spot” also is part of the Canaveral National Seashore and “offers a unique sunbathing experience where the sun gently caresses your skin, and your smile is the only dress code,” according to New Smyrna Stays, which added parking is limited “at this secluded gem.”

Apollo Beach includes a designated clothing-optional area, which is marked.
Haulover Beach in Miami, Florida, regularly ranked among best clothing-optional beaches in world
Haulover Beach is located within the bustling Miami Beach, set on the Atlantic Ocean.
“Haulover Beach is one of the best clothing-optional beaches in the world, as ranked by many online and print publications. As many as 7,000 people visit the beach in a single day,” according to hauloverbeach.org.
Haulover Nude Beach is situated between the Intercostal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean and is part of Haulover Beach Park. Approximately 66% to 85% of visitors use the nude beach area.
