Screenings of the “Stranger Things” season 5 finale episode, “Chapter Eight: The Rightside Up,” are coming to theaters nationwide on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
Showings begin Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET, timed with the episode’s release on Netflix, across over 350 theaters in the US and Canada. Fans can watch the finale in theaters through Jan. 1, 2026.
“We’re beyond excited that fans will have the chance to experience the final episode of “Stranger Things” in theaters — it’s something we’ve dreamed about for years, and we’re so grateful to Ted, Bela, and everyone at Netflix for making it happen,” series creators Matt and Ross Duffer told Tudum in October.

The second batch, three new episodes, of “Stranger Things 5” episodes come out on Dec. 25, Christmas, and the final episode releases on Dec. 31, New Year’s Eve.

“Stranger Things” co-creator Ross Duffer released the official times for the first four episodes of season 5 ahead of their Nov. 26 release date, however, runtimes for Vol. 2 of “Stranger Things 5” have not been officially confirmed.
