Stetson Hatters baseball in MLB draft 2025: Which players seem destined to be picked?

After a second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament this spring, the Stetson Hatters could add a cherry on top of their season this week.

Or a few cherries.

Multiple Hatters could be selected in the 2025 MLB Draft. That includes shortstop Lorenzo Meola, whom MLB.com ranks the 183rd best prospect available. They would be the first Stetson players taken since catcher Christian Pregent and pitcher Austin Amaral in 2023.

Rounds 1-3 will take place at 6 p.m. on July 13 and air on national television. Rounds 4-20 will follow at 11:30 a.m. on July 14.

Here’s a look at the event and some potential Hatters selections.

Isaiah Barkett

As the Hatters’ leadoff hitter, the North Carolina State transfer scorched through the first round of the NCAA Tournament, making the Auburn Regional All-Tournament Team. Barkett also played his way onto the ASUN All-Tournament Team and was chosen to the All-ASUN Second Team. He assembled an 18-game hitting streak and ranked second in his conference with 86 hits.

Lorenzo Meola

After earning the ASUN Tournament MVP award in 2024, Meola spent last season collecting more accolades — ASUN Defensive Player of the Year, All-ASUN First Team, ASUN Player of the Week and more. He participated in the MLB Draft Combine last month. Meola established new career highs in batting average and homers as a junior.

Jonathan Gonzalez

Gonzalez missed all of 2024 with an injury. But boy, did he make up for lost time in 2025. The 5-foot-11 lefty claimed the ASUN Pitcher of the Year award. And they keep rolling in — D1Baseball.com All-America Third Team, ABCA/Rawlings All-America Third Team, All-Southeast Region First Team. His 105 strikeouts represented the most by a Hatters pitcher since 2018, and he became just the eighth Stetson hurler to reach 250 career strikeouts. Gonzalez also went 3-1 in starts against Power Five competition, beating Penn State, Indiana and North Carolina State.

Ty Van Dyke

Van Dyke served as Stetson’s hammer out of the bullpen. He gave up just eight runs all season. As the senior, the 6-foot-2, 255-pound right-hander snatched a spot on Baseball America’s All-America Third Team and the American Baseball Coaches Association All-Southeast Region Second Team. Van Dyke also cracked the All-ASUN First Team and ASUN All-Tournament Team.
