UCF Knights baseball in MLB draft 2025: Which players seem destined to be picked?

The streak should continue this year.

Every summer since 1992, the UCF Knights have had at least one player chosen in the MLB draft. And with shortstop Antonio Jimenez ranked as the 172nd best prospect available by MLB.com for next week’s event, it doesn’t feel like it’s in much jeopardy.

Last year, pitchers Najer Victor and Chase Centala kept the run alive. They were the Knights’ 125th and 126th draftees in program history.

Rounds 1-3 of the 2025 draft will take place at 6 p.m. on July 13 and air on national television. Rounds 4-20 will follow at 11:30 a.m. on July 14.

Here’s a look at the draft and some potential UCF selections.

Dominic Castellano

A Preseason All-Big 12 honoree, Castellano’s 2025 wasn’t as dominant as his 2024. As a junior, the lefty was a Big 12 honorable mention with a 2.83 ERA and .164 batting average against. But as a senior, he still led the Knights with 23 appearances and 60 strikeouts and tied for the team lead in victories and saves (two).

Alex Galvan

During his final year of eligibility, the 6-foot-6, 245-pound right-hander enjoyed his best college campaign. Galvan had the second-best ERA on the team. He began his career with three years at Louisville before bolting to UCF ahead of the 2024 season.

Antonio Jimenez

This one comes with a caveat. Jimenez entered the transfer portal last month. But for now, he remains a Knight — and the best of the team’s draft-eligible crop. After transferring from Miami, the Davie, Florida, native made the most of his lone campaign in Orlando. He cracked the All-Big 12 Second Team. He enjoyed a 24-game on-base streak and finished second on UCF in home runs, RBIs and runs.

Dylan King

King spent the first two years of his career at North Carolina. He transferred to Orlando before the 2024 season. As a team captain, he finished second on the 2025 club in on-base percentage (.442) and slugging percentage (.652). He garnered an All-Big 12 honorable mention.

Andrew Sundean

A former American Athletic Conference first-teamer and Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American, Sundean closed his career mostly as a DH, making 26 of his 37 starts there last spring. He leaves UCF in eighth place on the school’s career home runs leaderboard with 34. He’s tied for eighth in RBIs with 160.
