The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a series of Meet the Candidates events in June and July, giving county voters a chance to meet the people running for local office.
Meet the Candidates 2026 North is Thursday, June 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Bartram Trail High School. Meet the Candidates 2026 South will be Thursday, July 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at St. Augustine’s Fullerwood Training Center.
Candidates running for the St. Johns County Commission will be at the June 25 event, and candidates running for the St. Augustine City Commission and mayor will be featured on July 30.
A 30-minute meet and greet will kick off both evenings followed by a town hall-style panel with a moderated question-and-answer session. Candidates will answer pre-selected questions drawn from those submitted by constituents during event registration.
“The Chamber is proud to make these educational events possible with the support of our sponsors, and to help voters make the most informed decision on Election Day,” Isabelle Renault, the chamber’s president and CEO, said in a news release.
Both events are free and open to the public.
Qualifying for county and municipal offices is noon on June 8 through noon on June 12. For a list of candidates and their financial disclosures, see https://www.votesjc.gov/candidate-list-and-reports#gsc.tab=0
The chamber said the events are informational and educational. Event sponsors include Waste Management and HCA Florida Memorial Hospital. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Interested businesses and organizations can learn more at www.sjcchamber.com/advocacy/meet-the-candidates-at-pisj.
