The drowning marks the second death in two weeks on Siesta Key. On Sept. 20, deputies responded at 9:53 a.m. to the 9000 block of Blind Pass Road, where Sarasota County firefighters were already performing lifesaving measures. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
