Sexual predator arrested in Palm Coast a day after prison release

A sexual predator was back in handcuffs a day after he was released from prison when he walked back to the Palm Coast house where he had sexually battered three girls, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident led to Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly lamenting that the law did not allow for a “penectomy.”

Gabriel Pardo, 45, was sentenced in 2019 to eight years in prison on two counts of sexual battery of a minor in familial or custodial authority, and one count of sexual battery of a victim 12 to 17-years-old. One of the girls was abused during a sleepover while the other two were abused multiple times over years, according to charging affidavits.

The prison term was followed by 15 years of sex offender probation.

Pardo was released on June 18 from state prison and a Greyhound bus dropped him off at its stop about 10:17 p.m. at 6125 E. State Road 100 in Palm Coast.

Pardo was wearing an ankle monitor and was required to report to the probation office in Bunnell at 8 a.m. on June 19, according to the sheriff’s office.

But he didn’t show up. Instead, the GPS showed Pardo walked more than six miles from the bus stop to the home in the F-section where he had sexually battered the three girls.

Probation officers alerted the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and detectives worked with the sheriff’s office Real Time Crime Center to track down Pardo as he walked along Old Kings Road and Hidden Lakes Drive, according to the sheriff’s office.

Pardo initially denied going to the house. Then he said he was just trying to orient himself and did not know he had to report to probation, the sheriff’s office stated in the release.

Pardo also said he did not intend to contact the victims.

The victims no longer live at the home and there was no indication Pardo tried to enter the house or contacted anyone there, according to the sheriff’s office.

Pardo was being held without bond at the Flagler County jail, which the sheriff calls the “Green Roof Inn.”

Flagler sheriff: ‘Pervert . . . clearly didn’t learn anything in prison’

“This pervert, convicted rapist, pedophile, and predator, couldn’t even make it one night out of prison before he attempted to contact the victims he assaulted,” Sheriff Staly stated in the release.

“He clearly didn’t learn anything in prison. Thanks to his ankle monitor and the fast work of our detectives and parole officers, his first day of freedom ended behind bars at the Green Roof Inn, which is exactly where this predator belongs for the rest of his life and if the law would allow it he should be ordered to have a penectomy!”
