After soundly defeating both the then-No. 8 Alabama Crimson Tide 31-17 and the FCS East Texas A&M Lions 77-3, the Florida State Seminoles have found themselves in a position to potentially return to the College Football Playoff for the first time since 2015.
Brad Crawford of CBS Sports recently published his College Football Playoff projections, and within the top 12 are none other than the Florida State Seminoles alongside several other prominent programs.
Crawford has the Seminoles ranked at No. 10 out of 12 possible spots in the playoff, predicting that the team will lose in the ACC Championship to Miami of all teams. Funny, given Miami has not won an ACC title in its entire existence in the conference.
Along with this prediction, Group of Five contenders, South Florida, and a predicted 9-3 Oklahoma Sooners team, round out the top 12. Crawford also predicts that there will be no team within the top 12 that goes undefeated. It remains to be seen whether this will be the case.
Florida State will continue its climb when it welcomes the Kent State Golden Flashes to Tallahassee on Sept. 20 at 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will be on the ACC Network.
