Lake Mary, Florida is back at the Little League Softball World Series, looking to advance farther than last year’s squad and bring home the city’s second Little League championship in three years.
The baseball team came out on top in 2024, and it looked like the girls were on pace to do the same in 2025 before a heartbreaking walk-off loss ended their run. The Little League World Series is a double-elimination tournament, just like the baseball version. But only 12 teams come to Greenville, North Carolina, as opposed to the 20 headed to Williamsport, Pennsylvania, later this month.
Those 12 teams — eight from the United States, four from abroad — are split into two brackets to start a week of softball games. The Florida squad kicks off the LLSWS for the second straight year, and once again it’ll be against a team from Washington. Lake Mary won 9-2 in the 2025 opener; how will they fare against Snohomish in 2026?

If Lake Mary can avoid two losses in bracket play and win the semifinal game, they’ll play for Florida’s first Little League softball championship in 30 years on Aug. 9. And two days later, the boys from Chaires-Capitola in Tallahassee might earn the Sunshine State another spot in the LLWS.

What channel is the Little League Softball World Series on?
The entire Little League Softball World Series will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN2 with the championship game airing on ABC. Streaming options include Fubo, which carries all channels and includes a free trial for new subscribers.
How old are Little League softball players?
The Little League World Series pits 12 teams of 10- to 12-year-olds from across the world against each other. While Little League Baseball requires all players to fall under the age limit by the end of August, Little League Softball rules state anyone who was 12 before Jan. 1 is eligible to compete.
Where is the Little League Softball World Series played?
Since 2020, Stallings Stadium at Elm Street Park in Greenville, North Carolina, has hosted the Little League Softball World Series. The stadium sits about a mile northeast of the East Carolina University baseball and softball stadiums.
