The incident was reported to Cocoa police around 5 a.m. A large police presence was reported in the 2000 block of  Amalfi Drive, located in the Lakeside Palms West subdivision. Officers found two unidentified people with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police reported. The two residents were transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Officers continued to search for the gunman as detectives worked to get possible witness statements and any surveillance videos from the area, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.
