Sarasota law firm Norton Hammersley Lopez & Skokos has joined Trenam Law, bringing in nine attorneys with practices spanning business, real estate, litigation and private client services, along with additional support staff.

Attorneys joining Trenham include:

· Sam Norton, shareholder, focuses on real estate, banking, and corporate transactions, including large-scale development and financing matters.

· Philip Hammersley, shareholder, handles construction and commercial litigation matters and serves as a Florida Supreme Court certified mediator.

· John Compton, shareholder, advises clients on estate planning, probate, and business and tax matters.

· Christopher Fowler, shareholder, advises clients on estate planning, probate, and business and tax matters.

· J. Derrick Maginness, shareholder, represents businesses and individuals in commercial litigation matters.

· Peter Skokos, shareholder, advises on real estate, lending, and business transactions, with experience representing financial institutions and real estate investors and developers.

· Jared Coldiron, associate, advises clients on estate planning, estate administration, asset preservation, business planning, and tax matters.

· Alexandra Glauser, associate, handles real estate matters, business law, and corporate transactions.

· Kirsten Guerin, associate, focuses on commercial and residential real estate transactions, including acquisition, development, leasing, and sale matters.

Shumaker attorney honored

Jan Pitchford, Shumaker Sarasota Managing Partner, has been named to Florida Trend’s Legal Elite Notable Managing Partners. The honor recognizes law firm leaders throughout the state who demonstrate exceptional mentorship, community involvement, and firm management. 

Pitchford, who formerly served as the Regional Service Line Leader for Shumaker’s Real Estate, Construction & Development Service Line, represents individuals and corporate clients in connection with the acquisition, development, and construction of residential and commercial real estate projects.

Pitchford has been board certified as a real estate specialist for over 29 years and serves as a member of the Sarasota County Value Adjustment Board.

Michael Saunders names tech leader

Michael Saunders & Company recently appointed Paul Rosile as chief information officer.

Rosile’s 30-year career in technology includes work with both small teams and global organizations to design and lead infrastructure, application, and enterprise solutions to help businesses scale and innovate. Rosile earned a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from the University of South Florida.

“We are thrilled to welcome Paul,” company president Drayton Saunders said. “As he leads the technology team, he’ll be adding his years of experience in the field to our skill set, particularly his comfort level with applying AI to real-world problems.”

Williams Parker elects 2 partners

Williams Parker law firm recently elected Trevor J. Johnson and Douglas E. Walker to the firm’s partnership.

Johnson practices in Trusts and Estates as well as Corporate and Tax. He advises owners of closely held and private businesses in matters related to estate and business succession planning. He earned his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law, J.D. from Albany Law School, and B.A. from Cornell University.

Walker brings more than three decades of construction-industry experience to his practice. He represents clients in construction and design matters, advising on risks related to contract changes, delays, differing site conditions, domestic content restrictions, diversity contracting programs, vendor insolvencies, terminations and bond claims. He earned his J.D., M.S. in Civil Engineering, and B.S. in Building Construction from the University of Florida.

· Sarasota Lock & Key, a family-owned locksmith serving the Sarasota area since 1925, has purchased a 4,620-square-foot showroom/warehouse property at 1770 N. Washington Blvd. near downtown Sarasota, for an undisclosed price. George Brusco of Ian Black Real Estate represented the seller, Golf Coast Yamaha Inc. Sarasota Lock & Key will relocate from a leased 2,640-square-foot space at 1342 N. Lime Ave. to the N. Washington Blvd. property later this year.

· Ian Black Real Estate has hired Jessica Duncan as a sales associate and expanded Jordan Gorrell’s role to marketing director and sales associate.

· The International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association recently honored Sarasota-based hypnotherapist Arthur B. Emrich of U-Solutions with the Life Diplomate in Hypnotherapy Award at their annual conference in Orlando.

· The New College Foundation raised more than $260,000 at its inaugural golf tournament on May 11 at The Concession Golf Club. The event was presented by Halfacre Construction Company. Proceeds support student scholarships, intercollegiate athletics, and hands-on academic opportunities.
