4C BBQ in DeFuniak Springs
This well-known barbecue restaurant reopened in September.
Bayside Cafe at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort
This eatery had its ribbon cutting/grand opening celebration on June 13. In a news release, organizers said the cafe is “a vibrant new gathering place for locals and resort guests alike.”
Cafe and Play
This place, where adults can relax while their little ones have fun in a safe environment, opened in October at 437 Mary Esther Cutoff NW.
Cara’s Cat Cafe
Where else can you go relax, pet a cat, and enjoy a cup of coffee or grab a sandwich or pastry? This new Destin place is at 4507 Fuling Lane, Suite 101.
Emeril’s Coastal Restaurant
After eight years, the eatery at 435 Grand Blvd. in Miramar Beach is closing.
Graffiti Pizza
Located in the old “World of Beer” location at the front of Destin Commons facing Emerald Coast Parkway, Graffiti Pizza opened on June 2 and has not slowed down.
Sugar & Co.
This sweet treat baked goods and ice cream food truck, operated by a former South Florida police officer and her husband, is establishing a brick-and-mortar location in the revitalized downtown Fort Walton Beach Landing Park area.
Shades Bar & Grill
Ownership is bringing a Shades Bar & Grill to the expansive Grand Boulevard shopping venue in Miramar Beach. The restaurant should open in summer 2026.
Smalls Sliders
Smalls Sliders opened one of its drive-thru burger restaurants on Dec. 10 at at 822 Beal Parkway, Fort Walton Beach.
Sunshine Hot Chicken N’ More
The restaurant, 2493 S. Ferdon Blvd. in Crestview, celebrated its grand opening on Aug. 16,
The Gulf Club Restaurant and Sports Pub
This new Destin place already has a reputation for great food, vibes and friendly service.
UME Sushi Destin
Located in the shopping strip next to Walmart in Destin at 16055 Emerald Coast Parkway Unit 108, UME Sushi Destin opened Oct. 9.
