Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles have pulled off several impressive flips during the 2026 recruiting cycle, and they are looking to pull off a few more. One of their top targets is four-star edge Asharri Charles, who is currently committed to the Miami Hurricanes.
His recruitment isn’t over, though, and he is taking an official visit to Tallahassee this weekend to watch the Seminoles play the Alabama Crimson Tide. It will be his first time visiting this year, and it will give FSU a chance to make up some ground in his recruitment.
While it won’t be easy to flip the Veice native from the Hurricanes, one expert thinks FSU has a shot. Steve Wiltfong, Rivals Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal, thinks they have a chance, saying he “could see them getting it done for Charles.”
It would be massive for FSU to add Charles to their recruiting class. Not only would they be taking him away from Miami, but edge is one of their biggest remaining needs on the recruiting trail. They do not currently have a player committed at the spot and are working to pull off a flip to two to address the need.
Charles is ranked as the No. 201 overall player and No. 25 edge in Rivals’ industry ranking. He is also the No. 27 player from Florida.
