Until now, a rare beachfront family compound has seen little attention on Sanibel Island.
Now that it’s up for sale, the “Hook Estate,” named after its secretive owner, is more visible inside and out through marketing, revealing its grandeur to the world, through an extensive gallery of photos — and even through a virtual tour on YouTube.
Her family has asked that she not be identified in any stories about the listing.
The estate has an asking price of $27 million. While it’s not a record listing price, it’s anything but typical for the island.
Set on 4.55 acres, the multi-story residence overlooks the Gulf, purposefully positioned for views of Sanibel’s famous, vibrant sunsets.
“If you look up and down the coast, it’s house after house, this one turns a little. The whole purpose here was to run parallel to the sunset, rather than to the beach,” said Andrew Darda, a listing agent with the Compass | Darda Group.
While it’s not the same as a personal visit, or tour, this gallery offers a glimpse into the detailed, upscale, one-of-a-kind design that makes the Hook Estate stand out as one of the most expensive listings on Sanibel Island.
