Many players have seen their dreams realized during this year’s NFL Draft.
But attaining the lifelong professional football goal doesn’t just stop at the draftees, as more prospects await getting calls from teams to sign as undrafted free agents.
Ten Florida A&M football players performed at March’s NFL Pro Day on campus. The Rattlers’ NFL prospects are headlined by Ashton Grable and Charles Davis, who earned Southwestern Athletic Conference honors in college and also performed in the pre-draft HBCU Legacy Bowl and HBCU Showcase events.
The Rattlers’ most recent NFL draftee is Brandon Hepburn, a linebacker selected by the Detroit Lions in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
However, the lack of draft picks hasn’t prevented FAMU football alumni from joining the NFL fraternity. FAMU has four players currently on NFL rosters: running back Terrell Jennings on the New England Patriots, wide receiver and return man Xavier Smith on the Los Angeles Rams, and defensive end Isaiah Land and safety Markquese Bell, who remained teammates on the Dallas Cowboys.
Will any more Rattlers join them?
Follow along.
