The Polk County legislative delegation will hold its annual meeting Aug. 12 in Bartow. The meeting is an opportunity for citizens, elected officials, cities, local governments and organizations to address the delegation before the start of the 2026 legislative session, according to a news release from Rep. Jennifer Canady’s office.
Anyone wishing to address the delegation may request a place on the agenda by submitting a presentation request form. Please email HD050@flhouse.gov to receive an online link to the presentation request form. The deadline for submissions is Aug.1.
Audience members may also complete a speaker’s form on the day of the meeting and will be allowed to speak in the order in which the request was received, up to 5 p.m. If you do not send information ahead of time, bring eight copies of all handouts to the meeting for distribution.
Spaces on the agenda normally fill up before the stated deadline, the release said. Spaces are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and each speaker is given three minutes.
To accommodate as many speakers as possible, groups presenting to the delegation are requested to have one individual speak on behalf of their organization.
The meeting is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. at the Polk County Commission Building, 330 W. Church St., in Bartow.
