PGA Championship 2025 leaderboard: Score updates
Jhonattan Vegas leads by 2 after finishing second round
First-round leader Jhonattan Vegas recorded a 1-under 70 in his second round to remain atop the leaderboard by 2 strokes. Vegas’ second trip through Quail Hollow was not as smooth as his first when he finished with five birdies in his last six holes but he did enough to maintain the lead. Whether that changes as the day goes on remains to be seen.
Max Homa shoots 5-under 64 to open second round
After opening with a 73 in the first round of the PGA, Max Homa carded a 5-under 64 in the second round. Homa almost aced the par 4, 341-yard 14th hole, his tee shot coming within inches of the cup.
Vegas rules on Day 1 at PGA Championship
Jhonttan Vegas, who bogeyed to open his Round 1, birdied five of his last six holes to take a two-shot lead into Friday’s Round 2. Vegas, whose best finish in any major was a tie for 22nd in the PGA Championship in 2016, shot a 7-under 64 on Thursday.
Ryan Gerard, Cameron Davis lead
The duo are in the clubhouse at 5-under, a shot clear of a large group at 4-under.
The closest player in that group is Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas, who is 4-under through 14 holes.
Cameron Davis holds solo lead
Australia’s Cameron Davis has a solo lead as of 5:25 p.m. EDT after moving to 6-under par through 16 holes.
Davis rolled in a long downhill putt for birdie on No. 16 to take the lead.

Eric Cole, son of professional golfers Bobby Cole and Laura Baugh and a Palm Beach County resident, aced the par-3 fourth hole (184 yards). Cole used a 7 iron for the hole-in-one, his 13th. He’s currently at even par and tied for 50th while playing the 14th hole.
Cam Davis joins the leader at 5 under
As the turtles continue to pop up on the Quail Hollow course, Cam Davis’ steady play has allowed him to creep up the leaderboard. After going out in at 33, the Australian, who finished tied for fourth at the PGA Championship in 2023, scored a pair of birdies, on the first and fourth holes, to join Ryan Gerard atop the leaderboard at 5 under.
Ryan Gerard charges up leaderboard with sizzling back nine
In his first full year on the PGA Tour, Ryan Gerard is having the best day of his young career. Gerard, 25, who lives in Jupiter, carded birdies on four holes of his back nine after going out with a 34.

Brooks Koepka ties worst career round in PGA with 75 at Quail Hollow
Jupiter’s Brooks Koepka used to own the PGA. Heck he’s won the event three times since 2017. However, his first round at Quail Hollow Club on May 15 will not be one he wants to remember.
Koepka, who has not been the same golfer since joining LIV, shot a 4-over 75. That’s tied for 84th with the afternoon matches getting underway. That score matches his worst score to par in a PGA since the 2022 PGA when he finished tied for 55th.
Since winning his last PGA in 2023, he has not won a Major and the best he’s finished in one of the big four is 17th.
Jupiter’s Luke Donald shoots 67, tied for clubhouse lead with Ryan Fox
Luke Donald, the European Ryder Cup captain who lives in Jupiter, has not made a cut in three PGA Tour events this season. But he is in the clubhouse with a 67, joining Ryan Fox atop the PGA leaderboard.
Donald was steady in his first 18 holes but he’s not expected to continue playing as well as the weekend goes on.
Ryan Fox takes early lead to clubhouse
New Zealand’s Ryan Fox made the first big statement of the tournament, wrapping up his first round around noon and shooting a 4-under 67, where the rest of the field looks up at him on the leaderboard. The one-time PGA Tour winner’s best finish at the PGA Championship is a tie for 23rd two years ago.
