The Miami Dolphins already gave Pro Bowl running back De’Von Achane a life-changing extension that will pay him $17 million per year over four seasons with $32 million guaranteed.
However, while Achane is present for organized team activities, he’s not participating, and head coach Jeff Hafley explained why during his media availability on Wednesday morning.
“He is recovering,” Hafley said. “He got his shoulder cleaned up and is rehabbing and is doing well. He’ll do some drills and run around.”
The shoulder injury shouldn’t keep him out long term.
Achane rushed for 1,350 yards and eight touchdowns on a league-leading 5.7 yards attempt last season while catching 67 passes for 488 yards and eight touchdowns in 16 games last year.
