The 2026 Lent season has officially arrived, and whether you choose to participate in the 40-day period of reflection or not, you can still take advantage of the Pensacola area fish fries that will be popping up every Friday paving the way for Easter. This year, Lent runs through April 2.
Here’s a round-up of where to go for the homemade delicacies, such as fried fish, hushpuppies, coleslaw—all in support of local organizations.

St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze/Navarre

St. Sylvester Catholic Church in Gulf Breeze/Navarre is offering a community fish fry from 4:30 to 6 p.m. every Friday during Lent. Sides include batter fried fish, batter fried jalapeño hush puppies, fresh chopped spinach and three cheese stuffed baked fish, homemade baked mac & cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches, homemade coleslaw, ice water, iced tea and lemonade. Prices range up to $25. No credit cards will be accepted, and no takeout or grilled seafood will be offered. The event is Sponsored by Knights of Columbus – 13277. St. Joseph Catholic Church

St. Joseph Catholic Church is offering a community fish fry every Friday during Lent. Attendees can choose two sides from baked beans, potato salad or coleslaw. The dinner includes hush puppies, dessert and a drink. There will be no grilled seafood, but fried basa or mullet will be offered. The cost is $15. Credit cards will be accepted and takeout will be offered. St. Jude Thaddeus, Cantonment

St. Jude Thaddeus, Cantonment will be offering a community fish fry from 4 to 6 p.m. March 20. Sides offered include coleslaw, grits and hush puppies, iced tea or lemonade. No grilled seafood options will be offered. Prices are $12 for adults and $6 for children aged 6 to 12. Credit cards will be accepted and takeout will be offered. Cathedral of the Sacred Heart

The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart is offering a community fish fry from 5 to 6:30 p.m. or until fish is sold out every Friday of Lent through March 27 in the Ava Maria Hall. Sides include grits, fries, hushpuppies, baked beans and desserts to go. No grilled seafood options will be available. The prices are $10 for adults, $6 for ages younger than 12 and $35 for families.
