PANAMA CITY BEACH − Panama City Beach has been named among the top beaches for “Beach Escapes” based on VRBO Search Data.
According to an email sent to the News Herald, this result is based on Vrbo search data comparing summer 2026 travel demand against the same booking window last year. The report found:
Panama City Beach appeared alongside destinations including Maui, Cape Cod, Nantucket, Aruba, Lisbon and Prince Edward Island, but stands out as one of the list’s more accessible and affordable beach escapes.
“The trend points to travelers swapping overplanned itineraries for Reese’s Book Club picks, beach chairs and slower days by the water,” the email reads. “In Panama City Beach, that means 27 miles of sugar-white sand, nearly 100 public beach access points and laid-back Gulf-front stays that feel far more attainable than many traditional coastal vacation markets.”
