Police clear Palm Bay Walmart; store reopens after bomb threat

A bomb threat prompted Palm Bay police to close off access to the Walmart Supercenter on Malabar Road for three hours early Friday, June 5.

After a search by law enforcement, the store reopened at 11 a.m. The unidentified caller’s threat was called in to the police department at about 8 a.m., police said.

No arrests had been made as of noon Friday, June 5.

Officers quickly moved to evacuate customers and workers from the store at 1040 Malabar Road after the threat, with the Brevard County sheriff’s bomb squad also alerted.

The parking area was closed off briefly before the store reopened.
