The District 1-2A wrestling dual meet title is back in familiar hands.
Pace snapped Gulf Breeze’s three-year title streak by besting the Dolphins 44-21 in the final on Jan. 7 at Crestview High School. It’s the Patriots first district title since 2022, which was the last of four straight dual district titles.
Pace beat Tate 77-6 in the quarterfinals and Arnold 50-24 in the semifinals to set up a rematch with Gulf Breeze. The Dolphins beat the Patriots 43-35 in the 2025 District 1-2A dual championship.
Gulf Breeze won five of the first six weight classes in the championship dual before Pace won the final eight weight classes. 106-pounder Scottie Bogenrief’s second round pin over Gavin Payne clinched the title.
Pace’s Bogenrief, Garrett Sauls (113), Dominik Baxter (120), Aden Cortez (126), Bowen Iorg (175) and Ikalka Castillo-Lagmay (285) went undefeated in the tournament.
Gulf Breeze’s Owen Ingalls (126), Keegan Deeds (138), John Delvecchio (144 quarterfinals, 150 semifinals and final) and Leyton Collazo (157 quarterfinal and final, 165 semifinal) also went undefeated.
Both teams advance to the Region 1-2A dual championship, which will be held Jan. 15 at a location that’s yet to be announced.
