PANAMA CITY BEACH — After the VIP launch the night of June 26, Topgolf opened to the public on June 27.
Located behind Pier Park’s Walmart location, the popular sports entertainment complex had people lined up itching to get in the door.
On June 27, the official grand opening features free gameplay from 9-11 a.m. with live entertainment, games and giveaways throughout the day.
“We’re excited because we don’t have to go to the driving range to play golf anymore,” said William Westmoreland, a Panama City Beach local. “I can practice my swing and add a little fun to it with the multiple game modes that Topgolf has.”
Topgolf broke ground in September 2024. The building will have two main floors where people can enjoy golfing and eating.
The destination is known for its golf-entertainment, food, drinks, and TopTracer games. The building also offers free Wi-Fi.
“We’re excited because I won’t have to drive (my husband) so far just to hit a golf ball,” said Westmoreland’s wife, Cheryl. “I don’t play golf, but I’m glad we’ve finally found a place where we can relax and enjoy each other.”
Anyone younger than 16 must be supervised by a guest age 21 or older at all times. Anyone younger than 18 must be supervised by a guest age 21 or older after 9 p.m.
The price range for each day is as follows:
“I’m excited that we’re finally open and it has been a long journey,” said Stephanie Hall, Topgolf director of sales. “We’re happy to bring this concept to Panama City Beach and we’re happy to finally kick this off.”
“We’re just excited to have something like this so close to the beach,” said Robin Weech, also a Bay County local. “We don’t have to make long unnecessary trips over the bridge to Panama City just for a driving range. I get to bring my own clubs, relax, and have some fun.”
