OneJax CEO Elizabeth Andersen to step down in August

OneJax CEO Elizabeth Andersen will depart the interfaith nonprofit in August to travel abroad with her family.

Andersen was appointed in January 2024 and called her tenure “one of the greatest honors of my professional life.”

“We have helped position OneJax for a new chapter grounded in belonging and civic trust, youth leadership and meaningful connection rooted in our shared humanity,” the former Duval County School Board member said. “My family and I now have the opportunity to spend an extended period traveling abroad together and, after much reflection, I made the decision that this was the right time to step aside.”

Chairman Jerry Mallot said the nonprofit’s board is “deeply grateful for Elizabeth’s leadership and the lasting impact she has made in our community.” A “transition process” is underway, he said, with support from former Executive Director Nancy Broner.
