Florida State held its Seminole Showcase this past weekend, and 2027 four-star wide receiver Ethan Kimmie was in attendance. It was his first time in Tallahassee, and he had a great visit, during which he was a standout among the premium talent on campus.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder has seen his recruitment pick up as of late, with several schools in the SEC increasing their efforts to land the standout from the state of Louisiana. The Seminoles also made a move during his visit.
“Oh, they’re pretty high,” Kimmie told Warchant. “Definitely something to consider.”
According to Kimmie, the Kentucky Wildcats and LSU Tigers are the other schools that he’s heavily considering. He also mentioned that although he hasn’t locked in any official visits yet, he wants to take one to FSU.
The 2027 cycle is a critical one for Florida State. With a talent like Kimmie holding them in such high regard, they have to keep their foot on the gas in terms of getting him to commit. It would behoove them to lock in an official visit quickly and show Kimmie that he’s a priority, especially with offensive assistant coach Gabe Fertitta having such strong ties in the state of Louisiana.
FSU is pursuing blue-chip wide receiver prospects Sean Green, who they’ve been projected to land, and Cam Wade, who they are currently leading for. Kimmie needs to be looked at the same way as they look to boost their 2027 recruiting class.
Kimmie is the No. 399 prospect in the country and the No. 57 wide receiver per Rivals’ industry rankings. In Louisiana, he’s listed as the No. 14 player in the state.
