Ashtyn Danley hit a go‑ahead home run in the ninth inning and earned the win in relief as No. 13 Florida State completed a three‑game sweep of Georgia Tech with an 8–5 victory in nine innings Sunday.
The Seminoles (43‑7, 18‑3 ACC) erased multiple deficits and used timely power to outlast the Yellow Jackets (29‑25, 10‑14).
FSU jumped ahead in the second inning on solo homers from Hayley Griggs and Isa Torres, whose blast was her 16th of the season and fifth of the week. Georgia Tech responded with four runs in the third to take the lead.
Anna Hinde led off the fourth inning with a home run and later tied the game with an RBI single in the fifth. After Georgia Tech regained the lead in the sixth, Hinde delivered again, tying the game with a two‑out double in the seventh.
After a scoreless eighth, Danley opened the ninth with a solo homer to put Florida State ahead. Two more runs scored later in the inning on an error, giving the Seminoles breathing room.
Danley (11‑1) retired the side in order in the bottom of the ninth, allowing one run on one hit in 3⅔ innings.
FSU heads to Gainesville for its second meeting against rival No. 8 Florida on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
