The NFL announced on Wednesday the training camp reporting dates and location for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the other 31 teams.
As they have, the Jaguars will hold training camp at the Miller Electric Center. The rookies will report on July 19th, and the veterans will report a few days later on July 22nd.
While we try to glean as much information as we can during minicamp, the emphasis during that portion of the offseason is on installs, along with fundamentals, technique, and communication. As head coach Liam Coen said during OTAs, the Jaguars were in the “learning phase” at that time.
All of those mentioned elements will certainly remain important once training camp arrives, but in late July, the pads come on, the intensity picks up, and the playing time and positional competitions really start to unfold.
When it comes to the Jaguars, with new offensive and defensive schemes being implemented, there will be plenty to keep our eyes on.
