Another Wawa convenience store and gas station is coming to the north side of West Palm Beach near the city’s baseball spring-training complex.
Work is nearing completion on the new Wawa on the northwest corner of 45th Street and Military Trail.
The store is going in on a 10-acre site at 5651 N. Military Trail that has been approved for a series of new businesses, including a Chick-fil-A restaurant with a drive-thru and a Chipotle restaurant.
The site is just up the road from CACTI Park of the Palm Beaches, the sports complex that serves as the spring training home of the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals.
It is also less than 2 miles west of another Wawa, located on 45th Street just east of Interstate 95.
The market and gas station have been a long time coming. City commissioners approved zoning changes to allow it back in 2021. Last year another zoning change to allow Chick-fil-A and Chipotle on the property was approved, too.
No opening date for the Wawa has been announced, and the company did not respond to a message seeking comment. A sign outside the premises says the Wawa is “coming soon!”
