New UCLA defensive line decommit to visit FSU vs. Kent State

The Florida State Seminoles are not only looking to take advantage of their great start to the 2025 season, but they are also looking to flip some players from teams that are struggling. The UCLA Bruins have started the year 0-3 and fired head coach DeShaun Foster, causing several of their commits to reopen their recruitment.

One player to watch is four-star offensive tackle Johnnie Jones, who is an in-state target and has visited them multiple times this year. Another target is Yahya Gaad, a three-star defensive lineman from Medina, Tennessee.

He decommitted from UCLA on Sunday afternoon and just a few hours later announced on social media that he will be visiting FSU next week for their game against the Kent State Golden Flashes on Saturday. The Seminoles offered him a scholarship on Dec. 4, 2024.

Gaad is ranked as the No. 472 overall player and No. 54 defensive lineman in the 247Sports composite. The 6-foot-5, 260-pounder is also the No. 15 player from Tennessee.

FSU currently has three defensive linemen committed in their 2026 recruiting class, headlined by four-star Earnest Rankins. They have been working to make additions to the group, and Gaad looks like a player to know moving forward.
