New breakfast, lunch restaurant joins thriving Cape Coral food scene

Seed & Bean Market and Oak & Stone were the first to open, making their side-by-side debuts at The Cove at 47th in Cape Coral in December 2025. Then came Big Nick’s BBQ on Jan. 26.

Four weeks later, across Cape Coral Parkway and less than a mile to the west, we got the first taste of Bimini Basin Seafood & Cocktails and its wonderful waterfront views.

Twenty days later, Aqua made its gorgeously stunning debut on March 17 in The Cove at 47th.

Which leads us to the House of Omelets.

The popular breakfast and lunch restaurant joined the South Cape expanding dining scene, opening May 4.

Welcome to the newest House of Omelets location

“It’s amazing,” owner Toni Dedaj said a few days after a quiet soft opening. “I’m very happy. I like this area, the way Cape Coral is growing. And this building is beautiful.”

That building is the eye-catching Bimini Square off Cape Coral Parkway. It anchors the first-floor northeast corner unit and is the fourth House of Omelets in Southwest Florida. The first opened on Pine Island Road in Cape Coral in early 2013, followed by Piper’s Crossing in North Naples in 2018 and south Fort Myers in late 2020.

“We’re going to upgrade those locations,” Dedaj said. “We’re changing the booths in the Pine Island (Road) one. We’re working hard to keep them fresh.”

The new location is about half the size of the Pine Island Road location.

“This one is the smallest and fanciest,” Dedaj said. “We still try to make it cozy and not too fancy. Simple but beautiful.”

Which is a perfect description.

This House of Omelets has a classic European vibe with mirrored arches, marble and dark wood tables, soft leather chairs and high-backed half booths — all in subdued shades of white, tan and brown. What’s not awash in natural light streaming through the ceiling-high windows is illuminated by all the lovely pendant lights.

It seats 89 inside and 40 outside at soon-to-be-umbrella-covered tables.

“We like it,” he said. “We still have the big menu, but we like the smaller seating area. Service is more personal.”

Tons of breakfast options at House of Omelets

And speaking of that menu (the same you’ll find at all House of Omelets locations), it is indeed huge, with about 30 signature omelets alone. Add in all the egg dishes (House Slam is a best seller), favorites (like corned beef hash and chicken & waffles), off the griddle dishes (multiple pancake, French toast and waffle options), Benedicts and crepes, plus coffees (from cappuccino to lattes) and fresh-squeezed orange juice, and we’re already up to huge without even getting to the lunch items.

Dedaj, who hails from the Balkans and also owns the Mediterranean-flavored Oda Pizzeria Bistro in Cape Coral, naturally cited the Greek omelet as his go-to order. The lobster and build-your-own omelets are also popular, as are the crepes — Nutella, cream cheese & honey, ham & bacon and smoked salmon.

Our avocado toast was freshly picture-perfect with eggs (we went with over easy), feta, tomato and bacon on toasted bread (we went with rye).

“We are going to do daily specials pretty soon,” Dedaj said. “Maybe a couple of weeks. We want people to try the menu first, then we will add the specials. We are seeing a lot of new customers come in already. And a lot we recognize too.”

Lunch at House of Omelets is big, too

Lunch options, meanwhile, include appetizers, salads, signature sandwiches (from lobster grilled cheese to Philly steak), burgers & melts, and pitas & wraps.

We don’t usually order salads, but 10 times out of 10, we would get the avocado Greek salad again. We added gyro meat (chicken is the other option) to our heaping bowl of mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, hard-boiled eggs, feta, avocado and Kalamata olives with pita bread and a dreamy creamy homemade Greek dressing.

“Most of the stuff we do is homemade,” Dedaj said. “We use local products. We like to help out the community as much as we can.”

As far as lunch items go, his favorite is the burger, which was “upgraded to Wagyu about six months ago.”

“It makes a big difference,” Dedaj said. “And we put it on a pretzel bun. It holds up to the juices of the burger better.”

There are a handful to choose from, including the feast burger with fried egg and bacon or ham (which is indeed a feast) and a patty melt.

While House of Omelets is still in its opening stages, a grand opening is expected toward the end of May.

“We’re waiting on our liquor license before we hold the grand opening,” Dedaj said. “We plan to have a full license so we can do specialty martinis and things like that.”

For now, though, Dedaj is focusing on “great food and great service.”

“We try to make everyone happy,” he said. “We want to make your day better. We want to make people feel at home when they come. Like a family. We treat you like family.”
