FSU baseball enters the NCAA Tournament with growing national belief that the Seminoles are capable of making another deep postseason run under Link Jarrett. That confidence was reflected this week in D1Baseball’s Regionals Roundtable, where multiple staff members projected Florida State to reach the Men’s College World Series as the 64-team NCAA Tournament field officially begins play.
In the roundtable discussion, two D1Baseball staff writers selected Florida State as one of their picks to advance to Omaha, continuing a trend of national analysts viewing the Seminoles as one of the more dangerous teams in the bracket despite entering as the No. 10 overall national seed.
The optimism surrounding Florida State largely centers around the balance of the roster and the program’s postseason experience. The Seminoles have spent most of the season ranked nationally and once again positioned themselves among the ACC’s top contenders. After reaching Omaha in 2024 and following it with another strong postseason push in 2025, FSU has increasingly developed the profile of a program built for June baseball.
Florida State enters the NCAA Tournament after finishing the regular season with one of the strongest resumes in the ACC and earning hosting rights once again at Dick Howser Stadium. The Seminoles will open regional play against St. John’s while also sharing the Tallahassee Regional with Coastal Carolina and Northern Illinois.
National projections and postseason predictions ultimately carry little weight once tournament games begin, but the recognition from D1Baseball reflects how Florida State is being viewed nationally entering the weekend. For a program attempting to continue its resurgence under Jarrett, expectations around Tallahassee are no longer simply about reaching the postseason — they are increasingly about how far the Seminoles can advance once they get there.
