The ‘Love Island USA’ Season 8 finale is days away, but sadly there are no Floridian contestants left to rejoice.
There were a total of seven contestants from bombshells to Casa Amor contenders with hometowns across Florida featured this season, which concludes this weekend.
The hit Peacock reality television series returned on June 2 and saw over 2.3 billion minutes viewed in its first two weeks, according to Deadline. That’s up 50% from Season 7, per preliminary Nielsen data.
Last year, on the show’s seventh season, a Jacksonville native nearly took home the grand prize.
LIUSA host and Vanderpump Rules TV personality Ariana Madix is also a Florida native from Melbourne and a Flagler College alumna.

During the finale, both people in the winning couple are given envelopes. One envelope has a $100,000 prize, and the other is empty. The person who gets the prize money can choose to keep it for themselves or split it with their partner.

Nic Vansteenberghe, 25, was a ‘Love Island’ USA Season 7 fan-favorite from Florida responsible for one of the most viral moments of the season — “I’m a mommy.” “Mamacita.” ring any bells?
The Jacksonville native and his partner Olandria Carthen, known to fans as “Nicolandria,” placed second and were crowned the runner-ups of the season.
Outside the villa, Nic balanced two careers, working as a registered nurse and as a model. He earned his nursing degree from Florida Atlantic University and is represented by both Next Miami Management and DT Model Management.
