The Jacksonville Jaguars will open the preseason at home against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
As Liam Coen said on Thursday, “everybody” will see at least some playing time. This includes Trevor Lawrence and Travis Hunter playing both sides of the ball.

Overall, a strong showing in the passing game
It’s been a relatively efficient night for the Jaguars’ passing game. The quarterbacks are a collective 31-of-44 passing for 273 yards with one touchdown. Things were a big more difficult on the ground, with Jacksonville averaging 4.0 yards per carry as a team.

Steelers QBs have been efficient
The combination of Mason Rudolph and Skylar Thompson are 23-for-28 passing halfway through the third quarter. The Steelers are, however, averaging just 2.3 yards per carry on the ground.

Josh Cephus leads the team in receiving yards with 25. Tank Bigsby has 24 rushing yards on six carries. Emmanuel Ogbah has four tackles and Dawuane Smoot has a sack.

Travis Hunter’s night
Hunter finished the night catching both passes that came his way for nine yards. He played 10 snaps on offense and eight on defense. No passes came his way on defense.

On that first possession, Hunter lined up in the slot and had three passes come his way, one of which was negated by a penalty. One of the passes was a screen to him and the other two plays were in-breaking routes.

Trevor Lawrence’s opening drive
Lawrence was 6-for-7 passing for 43 yards. He helped lead a 12-play, 44-yard scoring drive that ended in a field goal from Cam Little.

On the opening drive, we’ve seen screens, a jet sweep to Dyami Brown, the quick game, the ball being spread around, and Trevor Lawrence heavily attacking the middle of the field.
