It’s been an up-and-down sophomore season for Jacksonville Jaguars’ kicker Cam Little. However, head coach Liam Coen remains confident in Little’s abilities.
“I have a lot of confidence in Cam still,” Coen said, via Jaguars on SI.
Through seven games, Little has made 14-of-15 extra point attempts, but he is just 10-for-14 on field goals.
This includes going 0-for-2 in the Jaguars’ last two games. He’s also missed a kick in four of Jacksonville’s last five games.
Little currently ranks 31st out of 34 eligible kickers in field goal rate, making 71.4% of his attempts.
“I just talked to Cam. He was in here today. You know, he’s not going anywhere, and we’re not doing anything with it. He’s gonna get away from this thing for a few days and go reset and the good, the bad, the ugly, whatever it is, we’re starting fresh when get back in here. We have to.”
Little is coming off an impressive rookie season in 2024. He would make all 27 extra point attempts, and he was 27-for-29 on field goals, which included making a go-ahead 49-yarder against the Colts in Week 5 with only 17 seconds left.
The bye week can hopefully provide Little with the opportunity to hit the reset button, to a degree, and begin the second half of the season on a high note.
