Leon High School was briefly put on lockout following a domestic situation in the surrounding neighborhoods.
The security measure was announced to students by the principal over the intercom.
A lockout is a security measure where all school doors are locked, guests are not allowed to enter, and there’s a heightened security presence on campus.
According to Tallahassee Police Department spokesperson Lt. Damon Miller, in the area of Virginia Street and Gadsden Street police were responded to a domestic violence call with the suspect being armed with a knife.
As of 10:50 a.m., Miller said officers arrested the suspect. The principal also announced over the intercom that “the suspect has been detained.”
