JUPITER INLET COLONY – Kid Rock, a musician with ties to the Jupiter area, joined President Donald Trump as he signed an executive order Monday addressing “exploitative ticket scalping.”
Ticket scalping happens when bots buy tickets on behalf of scalpers, who sell them at a higher price. The order aims to ensure ticket scalpers comply with the Internal Revenue Service’s tax collections and other applicable law.
“I want the fans to have fair ticket prices,” said Kid Rock. “There’s plenty of money to go around. Nobody’s going to lose here.”

Does Kid Rock have a house in Jupiter?
Kid Rock bought a 5,400-square-foot oceanfront house in Jupiter Inlet Colony, a small waterfront town with high profile residents, for $3.22 million in 2012.
It was purchased in the name of Robert J. Ritchie as trustee of the RJR Trust. Robert Ritchie is Kid Rock’s real name.
The home, which has a total market value of $6 million, has no homestead exemption, which means it’s not considered a primary residence.
Kid Rock’s property sustained damage from erosion one year ago
Kid Rock’s home bore some of the worst erosion damage in Jupiter Inlet Colony in February 2024.
The erosion created steep drop-offs, some of them 10 feet high, from the dunes to the beach. At high tide, the ocean covered the bottom of stairways leading to the shore, blocking access to beachgoers. It led local officials to close the stretch of beach and deposit 10,000 cubic yards of sand over it.
Kid Rock lost about a quarter of his backyard to the erosion, which undermined a checkerboard-pattern patio and a concrete wall suspended in air over a steep drop to the beach.
“It’s really scary,” said Stephen Hendrickson in February 2024, whose house on the beach was damaged. “Some of their homes are in danger. It’s very significant and dramatic.”
