It’s almost decision time for four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole. The Florida State Seminoles are one of three finalists along with the Georgia Bulldogs and Tennessee Volunteers. He’s set to make his choice on Friday on 6 p.m. ET.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder told 247Sports that he has made his decision already, which he determined after his official visit. Now, the only question is after which official visit did he make the decision?
As far as FSU goes, the momentum for them picked up after Poole took his official visit on June 12, which lead to four predictions for the Seminoles to land him. However, when Poole broke down his top schools to 247Sports, he talked about how Florida State has been in the mix from the start.
They’ve always been in the picture. I just kept them on the low. They just wasn’t talking to me as much as Tennessee was at the beginning. But the relationships, the loyalty with them, I think I’ve been feeling like a priority to them at the school for a while. So, that’s about it. All the staff, man. From the training room to managers, everything, really. Just the people. It meant a lot on that official visit. My little brother got an offer while we went down there. It was a lot. It just felt like home, man.
Landing Poole would be major for FSU and undoubtedly boost their rankings in the 2027 cycle. It would also them two dynamic players at safety as well with three-star Jemari Foreman and his ball-hawking skills shutting down his recruitment recently.
The pitch for Florida State is centered around two things. Their financial push to Poole is said to be the most aggressive of any school. Also, early playing time is another key factor. The Seminoles will hope that they have done enough to hold off the Bulldogs and the Volunteers at the finish line.
Poole is the No. 64 overall prospect in the country and the No. 6 safety per the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also listed as the state of Georgia’s No. 5 recruit.
