Kevin Pettis out as Bozeman football coach, takes Marianna job

Kevin Pettis is out as head coach of the Bozeman football team, he confirmed to the News Herald on Tuesday night.

Pettis, who took over the program this past year, has accepted the head coaching position at Marianna after coach Jack Glover left during the offseason.

“I’m excited for the opportunity. Very thankful for the opportunity to coach the Bozeman Bucks. Wish them all the success in the world,” Pettis told the News Herald.

In his first season, Pettis led the Bucks to a 6-5 record and the program’s first district championship. He returns to Marianna, where he previously served on staff. The Bulldogs went 1-9 this past season and are now members of the SSAA, an association Pettis has favored.

Bozeman will now have two head coaches in two years, with both departing after one season and combining for an 11-10 record in that span.
