Lakeland Police Department has closed off a portion of Lake Hollingsworth trail for a death investigation early on April 20.
Lakeland police responded to a call about 7 a.m. April 20 after a jogger found a body near a bench on the northeastern shore, near the First Presbyterian Church and the Lake Hollingsworth Apartments.
Police said there did not appear to be any sign of foul play in the death of the unidentified male, who was approximately in his early 20s, according to LPD spokeswoman Robin Tillett.
Tillett said the individual is not believed to be a student, but no further information was immediately available.
The trail around the lake was reopened about 9:40 a.m.
