The Jacksonville Jaguars traded a 2027 late round pick for New York Giants offensive lineman Daniel Faalele on Aug. 19.
Faalele was signed by the Giants in April after spending the past four seasons in Baltimore.
The 6-foot-8, 370-pound Faalele followed head coach John Harbaugh to New York in free agency, signing a one-year, $1.4 million deal, with $687,500 guaranteed.
Faalele started all 34 of the Ravens’ games from 2024-25.
Why Jaguars traded for OL Daniel Faalele
The Jaguars are in need of offensive line help, with a slew of injuries already hampering that squad.
Right guard Patrick Mekari underwent a “recent” surgery on his back.
Right tackle Cole Van Lanen was placed on the physically unable to perform list with a right knee injury prior to the start of camp.
Offensive tackle Chuma Edoga has been out after suffering a lower body injury last week.
Wyatt Milum is out this week with an undisclosed injury but is expected back next week.
And recently added offensive tackle Geron Christian Sr. has missed time this week with undisclosed issue.
Anton Harrison was recently moved from right tackle to left tackle to provide protection for quarterback Trevor Lawrence’s blind side.
Daniel Faalele career accomplishments
Faalele is entering his fifth year in the NFL, playing all four prior seasons in Baltimore.
Faalele was selected by the Ravens in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft with the 110th overall pick.
He had just one start in 32 games over his first two seasons before becoming a steady force for Baltimore, starting all 34 games the past two years. He took part in 2,119 snaps during that period, playing 100 percent of the Ravens’ offensive snaps.
