Jacksonville Jaguars’ punter Logan Cooke has been named the AFC’s Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance against the Denver Broncos in Week 16.
Cooke had six punts and played a key role in flipping the field position in this game.
Of his six punts, four of them pinned the Broncos’ offense inside their own 20-yard line. Cooke also had just one punt go for a touchback.
He would also average a hefty 52.0 yards per punt, which includes a long of 63 yards.
The Jaguars’ entire punt coverage team contributed as well, with Denver return man Marvin Mims averaging just 7.0 yards per punt return on his two attempts. Mims has been one of the most explosive punt returners in football this season.
Among all punters this season, Cooke ranks 14th in yards per attempt, 14th in the number of punts inside the 20-yard line, and 11th in net return average.
