The Jacksonville Jaguars are set to trim down the team’s roster from 90 to 53 players ahead of the Aug. 26 deadline. Teams will have until 4 p.m. to make roster moves to get to the league-mandated limit.
The Jaguars are under new leadership, headed up by head coach Liam Coen, general manager James Gladstone and EVP Tony Boselli. Now, the trio must make several challenging decisions to get the franchise on track with their standards and what they believe to be the best players to field this season.
“By being nothing more than who they are and who we know them to be, both on and off the field, they’re going to do exactly what we would hope they’d do and that’s level up this ecosystem,” Gladstone said in March, during the team’s first major player-acquisition period this year: pro free agency.
