It’s possible Nov. 11, 2025, could be the coldest Nov. 11 on record on the Treasure Coast.
With an arctic blast arriving from Canada, Florida will experience its first cold snap of the fall — and Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties could each set a cold weather record.
Temperatures are expected to be in the mid to low 40s in the early morning, with a low of 40 degrees expected by 6 a.m. in Vero Beach and Fort Pierce. Stuart is expected to be mid 40s, said Brendan Schaper, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service Forecast Office in Melbourne.
With 15 to 20 mph wind chill, it could “feel like” low 30s, and the interior parts of the Treasure Coast could “feel like” below 30 degrees, he said.
He said there’s potential to break or tie the low temperature record for the day.
The current record low for Nov. 11 in Fort Pierce is 42 degrees set in 1991.
“We’re forecasting to break that record,” Schaper said. “It’s less typical to see it this cold this early.”
The coldest Nov. 11 on record in Vero Beach was 40 degrees set in 1968. Historical records for Stuart were not available for the date but regional information supports a record low there in the general range of 40 degrees.
The all-time record low for November on the Treasure Coast is 31 degrees recorded on Nov. 25, 1970, in Vero Beach. .
“Wind chills could range from six to eight hours near Fort Pierce, two to four hours down in Stuart,” Schaper said. “It’s going to be a little bit longer duration that we see these cold wind chills.”
He said temperatures are expected to go up to the mid 50s the night of Nov. 11 into the next morning, but residents should still expect chilly mornings around 50 degrees Nov. 12-13.
Temperatures are expected to go back up to high 50s into the 60s Nov. 13-14 and a high of 81° across the entire Treasure Coast on Nov. 16.
