Congestion continues on I-75 after early-morning fatal crash. Lanes open

A fatal crash on Interstate 75 in Sarasota County early June 3 caused delays for early-morning commuters.

The crash was reported shortly after 4 a.m. near Venice.

All northbound lanes were closed for several hours. While they are now open, FL511 reports congestion in the area where the crash occurred.

Fatal crash reported on I-75 near Venice, Florida

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on I-75 at 4:05 a.m. June 3 at mile marker 193 (Jacaranda Boulevard) near Venice in Sarasota County.

FL511 reported several vehicles were involved.

Traffic diverted off I-75 in Sarasota County for hours

All northbound lanes on I-75 at Jacaranda Boulevard were closed for several hours after the early-morning crash.

All lanes were open as of 8:30 a.m.

Traffic congestion continues on I-75

At 8:39 a.m., FL511 reported traffic congestion from before mile marker 187 to before mile marker 192.
