It's left guard for Dolphins rookie Kadyn Proctor, to start

The Miami Dolphins plan to start off with rookie Kadyn Proctor at left guard, general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan said on the Joe Rose Show.

This will push second-year guard Jonah Savaiinaea to right guard and allow veteran Austin Jackson to remain at right tackle.

Proctor will receive some practice reps at tackle, as well. If an injury were to occur to Jackson at any point, Proctor would likely be first up to take over at right tackle.

This is not unprecedented. Recall tackle Laremy Tunsil spent time at guard as a Dolphins rookie.

And Miami could potentially move on from Jackson after this season, allowing Proctor to go to tackle.

Miami is set up to have an enormous left side of the offensive line:

Miami is committed to running more in 2026.

First-year coach Jeff Hafley wants the team to exhibit toughness and physicality.

Sullivan has added some large players as a focus shifts from speed to power.

Savaiinaea played on the right side in college. Miami will hope his move back to the right side will result in dramatic improvement. It will be needed.

If not, veteran Jamaree Salyer or rookie DJ Campbell would be options there.

Sullivan has said he is committed to protecting new starting quarterback Malik Willis.
