Spirit Halloween wastes no time getting the spooky season started as early as August — and this year there will be more stores than ever.
Spirit Halloween plans to open the most stores in company history, with a record-setting 1,575 stores compared to 1,546 stores in 2025 and 1,535 stores in 2024, Spirit Halloween director of PR Lori Tesoro told USA TODAY. Last year, there were Spirit Halloween stores in 67 Florida cities.
As empty storefronts across Florida transform into the festive hub for scary costumes, decorations and all things Halloween this month, here’s where your local store will open its doors.
What months of the year is Spirit Halloween open?
Brick-and-mortar Spirit Halloween stores typically start opening at empty storefronts in August. Some in Florida have already started to open for the 2026 Halloween season.
Most stores usually close within the first week of November, but die-hard Halloween enthusiasts also can shop online year-round.
