Earlier Thursday, Ian Rapoport said on NFL Network that Waddle was “going to work out pregame and hope he is able to go. No guarantees early on.” Later in the day, NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe had a much more optimistic report about Waddle’s availability.

“Waddle is expected to play,” Wolfe’s post reads, in part. “Not much doubt despite being questionable with minor shoulder injury.”

Waddle missed two games during the 2024 season and finished the year with 744 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Through two games this season, he has 98 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Tyreek Hill and Waddle are the clear top two options for Tua Tagovailoa at wide receiver and Malik Washington has emerged as a factor in the slot. Behind that trio is former Tennessee Titans deep threat Nick Westbrook-Ikhine who has just three receptions for 25 yards through his first two games in Miami. The final spots on the depth chart belong to Dee Eskridge and Tahj Washington.
