The National Hurricane Center is watching Invest 95L, a broad area of low pressure in the Atlantic expected to become a tropical depression by midweek.
Invest 95L is forecast to move quickly west-northwestward across the central tropical Atlantic and approach the Leeward Islands by the latter part of this week, per the NHC’s Oct. 6 update.

“It is becoming likely that this will organize into a tropical storm this week,” said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski.
The next named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season will be called Jerry.
It’s too soon to tell what, if any, impacts the system will have on Florida. Currently, models show the system turning north near the Caribbean.
Meanwhile, the Sarasota, Florida area weather forecast calls for a chance of showers and thunderstorms daily through Friday, with temperatures in the high 80s and low 90s.
