IMG Academy has a star senior EDGE annually. This season will be phenom Zyron Forstall’s turn.
Forstall was a force last year for the Ascenders, and was second on the team in TFL (9.0) while tallying a team high vie sacks for a defense front that included seniors Jake Kreul (Oklahoma) and Cam McHaney (Indiana). The hype continues to swell for Forstall, a 5-star prospect, ahead of his senior campaign.
“This time next year, I’m going to be in college,” he said. “So that’s all I’m worried about. Development for college and getting ready for the next level.
Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Miami are the teams to watch for the 6-foot-4, 225-pound pass rusher. He said those programs are doing a good job, and visits are either confirmed or in the works.
LSU, under Lane Kiffin and his new staff, is also working for the New Orleans native.
“I would say (they’re doing a good job), yeah,” Forstall said of the Tigers new staff. “I would say with the big changes they had, it’d be hard for any college to keep up in communication so I’d say they’re doing a good job. … “I’m still deciding (between visiting) LSU and Notre Dame.”
Forstall confirmed with that he’ll be taking a visit to Texas A&M, and “most likely” a spring unofficial visit to Miami.
“I just kind of felt at home there,” Forstall said of his fall unofficial visit to College Station in October. “It was an electric stadium there when I went to watch the game. It was amazing. I get along with the coaches well. I camped there over the summer and I felt really comfortable. I felt like my development would get way better there.”
Miami continues its pursuit of Forstall, and he said a spring visit will help him get a clearer picture of how he meshes with the program.
“(The relationship) has been pretty good,” he said. “(Defensive line coach Jason) Taylor really just wants to continue it. I want to get our there in the spring and see how thing operate with the guys.”
